Ski Slopes Up Close
Two-hour scenic Snowcat tours depart from the Winter Park Resort base area at 10am and 12pm daily and also at 2pm Friday-Sunday. Tours follow various ski trails to the top of Winter Park Mountain, with opportunities to stop and take pictures along the way.
Snowzone
Check out Snowzone in Hideaway Park for fun free events and activities for the entire family all winter long. Sledding hill, rail riding, classes, snowshoe hikes. Night Skiing and Tubing
SolVista Basin at Granby Ranch has night skiing and tubing on select nights. There is a little sledding/tubing hill for children eight and under. 800-757-7669, www.granbyranch.com.
Colorado Adventure Park, located behind the Fraser Shopping Center, offers tubing for the entire family three years and older. There is a magic-carpet, conveyor, lift ride to the top. New Rec Center!
The new rec center opens this winter with an aquatic area with a 20ft loop slide, lazy river, whirlpool and sauna. There is also a climbing wall, gymnasium, running and walking track, and the latest in cardio equipment. Located right off US Hwy 40 next to Winter Park Market. Gliding Along
A free ice-skating rink is located next to the parking structure in Cooper Creek Square. Ice skates can be rented at Christy Sports (970) 726-8873.
The Fraser Valley Recreation District also has a free rink located in Fraser off County Road 5. Bring your own skates (970) 726-4708.
Devils Thumb has an ice-skating rink open mid-December to February, weather depending. Rentals available (970) 726-8231.
Snow Mountain Ranch has an ice-skating rink near the Nordic center (970) 887-2152 ext. 4173.
There is a family-friendly pond at The Village at Winter Park (970) 726-5514.
Sleigh Bells Ring
There's nothing better on a winter day than a cozy sleigh ride followed by a roaring bonfire. Devils Thumb Ranch offers sleigh rides, pony rides, and dinner sleigh rides, (970) 726-5632, www.devilsthumbranch.com.

Music in the Mountains
The Grand County Concert Series brings classical music to the Fraser Valley. All of the concerts are on Friday, 7pm, Church of the Eternal Hills in Tabernash. Each concert is followed by a complimentary dessert reception with the artists. Tickets at the door: $15 adults, $8 students.
